Electra Metropolis - Electra Hotels & Resorts
Electra Metropolis is the newest member of Electra Hotels & Resorts Group, and the 3rd hotel of the Group in Athens. Electra Metropolis is located in Mitropoleos street at the building that used to house the ministry of Education. The 10 storey building is also located very near the Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament. The building was fully renovated by Aktor.
Xenex scope was to design and supply equipment to all the Food & Beverage outlets. The design stage lasted over 12 months, during which Xenex executives had several meetings and discussion with parties involved. There was very close cooperation with the owners, the operation team ( General Manager, F&B Manager and Executive Chef) and the project engineers (architects, designers and MEP engineers).
The Food & Beverage outlets include:
- Main Kitchen, Preparation and Storage located on the Ground Floor
- Library Bistro Restaurant with open kitchen located on the Ground Floor
- Atrium Lounge Bar located on the Ground Floor
- Metropolis Roof Garden Restaurant with open kitchen located on the 10th Floor
- M Bar located on the 10th Floor with stunning view at the Acropolis
The designing procedure was very challenging since we had to accommodate a variety of different functions in very limited space. For this reason we had to use multi-purpose compact equipment with advance technology. Some of the equipment used are Meiko M-iClean dishwashers with incorporated reverse osmosis technology for crystal clear results, Convotherm 4 combisteamers, Magikich’n charbroilers, Fusionchef Julabo sous vide cookers, OLIS cooking equipment, Inducs Swiss Induction technology. Another interesting technology used at Electra Metropolis dishwashing areas is IMC waste management systems. All fabrications & refrigeration was supplied by Xenex Steel.
At the 10th floor breakfast buffet Xenex provided Cooktek hidden induction technology “Incogneeto” which keeps the chafers warm being hidden below the marble top!
The end result was ideal, and since the first day of operation both the Hotel and its F&B outlets perform very well, keeping every day hundreds of customers satisfied!
